God Wants Me To See

ILLUMINATION
~ Letting the Holy Spirit show me the meaning of God’s Word and how it applies to my life ~

John 14:26 “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

John 14:17 “the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.”

John 16:15 "All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”

Ephesians 1:17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.

Ephesians 1:18-19 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength.

I see the solution to my problem

Genesis 21:19 Then God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water. So she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink.

I see the barrier to my progress

Numbers 22:31 Then the Lord opened Balaam’s eyes, and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the road with his sword drawn. So he bowed low and fell facedown.

I see the defense for what's attacking me

2 Kings 6:17 And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

I see how God is walking with me

Luke 24:31 Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight.

How do I prepare to see what God wants me to see?

Begin a relationship with God

1 Corinthians 2:14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.

John 3:3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again."

Ask God in Faith to open my eyes

Psalm 119:18 Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.

James 1:5-6 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

Matthew 7:7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”

Psalm 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.

Come with a humble attitude

Psalm 25:9 He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Cleanse my heart of sin and conflict

Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

1 John 2:11 But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them.

Commit in advance to do what God says

Psalm 119:33-34 Teach me, Lord, the way of your decrees, that I may follow it to the end. Give me understanding, so that I may keep your law and obey it with all my heart."

James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
