A New Way to Sail

“How you respond to relational responsibility shapes you” (aka – a new way to sail) Paul is giving Timothy some direction on how to navigate relationships and how to teach the new Christ followers, on how to treat one another, regardless of age and gender, in a manner that continues to ‘set an example’ (4:11-15).

How you respond to relational responsibility shapes you, and teaches us a new way to exist and live (sail) in our culture.  Therefore, we need to listen, learn and duplicate what Paul is teaching us about how to live as disciples of Christ (Ephesians 4:1-7, Pauls 1st letter to the church)

Thankfully, the Hebrew way of learning a concept was to engage in it.  Chapter 5 is a good example of putting chapter 4:11-15, along with Eph.4:1-7 into action so that people in the church recognize the importance of unity in the church and being relationally responsible for one another.

So Listen, Learn, and duplicate what Paul is teaching – because it’s our responsibility to love people like Christ has loved you/us.  Loving people like Jesus loves you, grants them the grace He has shown and loved you with.  And it makes us very aware of our need of the Holy Spirit to change us, to empower and enlarge our capacity that allows Christ’s love, kindness, gentleness, and grace to flow through our heart, mind and actions in our family, church, and work friendship continue to deepen.
